Public Service Announcements (PSAs) spotlighting
substance abuse issues are available to print, broadcast
and online media on the following Web sites.
Be Real,
a drug-prevention program for 10- to 14-year-olds in
Illinois, puts the spotlight on kids who are “being real
to themselves” by being good role models for their
brothers and sisters, enjoying a sport or volunteering
in their community.
The Center for Substance Abuse Research,
a research
center within the College of Behavioral and Social
Sciences, University of Maryland College Park, offers PSAs on the effects of heroin and ecstasy use.
Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America,
which builds and strengthens the capacity of community
coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug-free
communities, offers 30-second spots on prevention for
television broadcast.
Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)
offers two
30-second PSAs featuring D.A.R.E. mascot Daren the Lion
"playing a wild game of tennis" with Serena Williams and
Venus Williams, two of the top-ranked women in
professional tennis.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
offers print, radio
and television PSAs to prevent drunk driving, support
victims and prevent underage drinking.
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
(NCADD) - New Jersey
promotes the prevention and treatment of, and recovery
from, alcoholism and drug addiction through advocacy and
education in part by producing print, television and
radio PSAs.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse
offers radio, television and print ads from the
organization that supports over 85 percent of the
world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and
addiction.
The Office of the National Drug Control Policy,
which establishes policies, priorities and objectives
for the U.S. drug control program, created this National
Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, a multi-dimensional
effort designed to educate and empower youth to reject
illicit drugs.
The
Peers Influence Peers Partnership
has created a number of public service announcements for
broadcast on both local cable TV and some national
outlets with the help of the Elks National Drug
Awareness Program.
SAMHSA’s annual Recovery Month
PSAs aim to promote the
societal benefits of alcohol and drug use disorder
treatment, laud the contributions of treatment providers
and promote the message that recovery from alcohol and
drug use disorders in all its forms is possible.
The State of New Jersey
offers a “Teen Hangout” site
that provides PSA's geared toward adolescents.
The
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
offers PSAs to
raise global awareness of drug use and prevention in its
fight against illicit drugs and international crime.
For Organizations
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
(NCADD) - New Jersey
offers posters and print ads that can be customized by
prevention, treatment and recovery organizations.
Recovery is everywhere
offers
free print ads and postcards targeting active addicts, their families and the community at large.
