Interventions
Professional interventions can be an integral early step
in helping addicted people and their families begin
the recovery process. If your situation has you
concerned enough, you may want to explore this option.
Vernon Johnson, one of the earliest intervention proponents in the
1970s, defines an intervention as "presenting reality
to a person out of touch with it in a receivable
fashion." Here are some national organizations that can
help you decide if an intervention is the right choice
for you and your loved one.
Screening Tools
Has drug or alcohol abuse become a problem for a loved one? Get closer to an answer with an online
evaluation and other tools provided by The Partnership
for a Drug-Free America.
If someone you know or love has a drug addiction or
alcohol abuse problem, the
Alcohol and Drug
Addiction Resource Center can give you free help and
information by filling out a
strictly
confidential contact form.
GetFit offers confidential and anonymous self-help tests
that are designed to help you understand how alcohol may
be affecting you or your loved ones.

From our visitors:
I recently had the pleasure of reading the article
that (Sara Solovitch) eloquently wrote about Hollie
and her recovery from the disease of addiction. I
wanted to thank you for writing such an honest
piece. Hollie and I were roommates during her entire
stay at Chrysalis House and we graduated on the same
day, March 22nd. We are great friends and sisters in
recovery. I am blessed to know her and truly
appreciate what you did. You are a champion for
showcasing the hope that people have who choose to
live instead of give into the disease of addiction.
Most sincerely, Susie Quinn
